Presence, position and alignment

Missing-label and label-position inspection

Confirm that the correct label is present, placed within tolerance and aligned as intended—on every inspectable pack.

01Presence inspection

Missing-label detection

The system checks a defined label region for expected features, edges or contrast. A missing or severely displaced label generates a fail result before the pack proceeds.

  • Suitable for bottles, jars, cartons, trays and other stable packs
  • Multiple labels can be checked with the correct camera coverage
  • Recipe-controlled regions for repeatable product changeovers

Typical acceptance question

Is the required label visibly present in the expected inspection region?

02Measured placement

Label-position inspection

Label edges or reference artwork can be measured against the product or a fixed datum. Horizontal, vertical and rotational tolerances are set to reflect what production can reliably achieve.

Typical measurements

Top/bottom height, leading/trailing position, rotation and position relative to a moulding, cap or pack feature.

03Presentation control

Skewed-label detection

Vision tools identify labels that lean, twist or follow the pack incorrectly. Stable handling is important so apparent movement of the container is not mistaken for a label defect.

Engineering consideration

Reflective containers, clear labels and curved surfaces may require specialised lighting and more than one view.

04Paired label checks

Front-and-back label verification

Inspect the presence, identity and relative placement of two labels. Camera arrangement depends on product orientation and whether both faces can be presented consistently.

Optional checks

Correct pairing, orientation, gap, height, product-to-label match and readable variable information.

05Cylindrical products

Wraparound label inspection

Inspect presence, overlap, alignment and visible artwork around bottles, jars or cans. Multiple cameras or controlled rotation may be required when the full circumference matters.

Coverage matters

A single camera cannot see the hidden side of a cylindrical pack. We define the required views during the application review.
