Mechanical, electrical and controls integration

Integrating label inspection into your production line

Turn a camera application into a reliable production system with controlled presentation, tracking, rejection and operator interaction.

System architecture

Four functions must work together

Good image processing cannot compensate for uncontrolled handling or an unreliable reject route.

01

Present

Guide, space and orient each product consistently.

02

Inspect

Trigger cameras and illuminate the required label views.

03

Decide

Apply the active recipe and create a pass/fail result.

04

Control

Reject, stop, alarm and record the outcome.

Line integration

Interfaces planned before manufacture

  • Product detection, encoders and conveyor tracking
  • PLC signals, interlocks and line-speed information
  • Recipe selection and changeover confirmation
  • Reject outputs, confirmation sensors and alarms
  • HMI access levels and operator guidance
  • Result counts, images and production-data options
Evidence and data

Record the information your process needs

Data scope is application-dependent. We define retention, storage, access and interface requirements during specification.

01

Production counts

Total, accepted, rejected and reason-coded results by run or recipe.

02

Failed images

Optional stored images to support investigation and tuning.

03

Recipe history

Controlled settings and change records where the selected platform supports them.

04

System interfaces

Agreed exchange with line controls, databases or production systems.

Can a label inspection system be retrofitted to an existing conveyor?

Usually, yes. A retrofit survey checks available line space, product stability, conveyor speed, electrical and PLC interfaces, reject distance, guarding and maintenance access. The result may be a compact camera-and-lighting module, a dedicated inspection conveyor, or a wider mechanical change where products need spacing, orientation or controlled rotation.

Retrofit planning

Budget for the complete production function

Camera hardware is only one part of the project. Product handling, controlled illumination, tracking, rejection, safety, controls and acceptance testing determine whether the system remains reliable on shift.
